The P.S. 131 addition is a fully air-conditioned, accessible three-story facility providing fifteen standard classrooms and two special education classrooms. 

The project includes:

An art classroom 
Music classroom and dance studio 
Reading and speech resource room 
Library 
Auxiliary cafeteria 
Gymnasium, exercise room and outdoor playgrounds 
Staff lunchroom/conference room 
Medical and administration suites 

Improvements to the existing building include a standard classroom, parent/community room, reading and speech resource room, and a refuse and recycling room.
