The P.S. 56 addition is a three-story air-conditioned, fully accessible addition for students in kindergarten through fifth grade. The addition includes five kindergarten classrooms and ten standard classrooms, an art classroom, a science resource room, a library, a gymatorium, and a kitchen and cafeteria. Improvements in the main building include five additional classrooms, as well as three district special education classrooms and a reading/speech resource room. There will also be a music suite, a medical suite, and a multipurpose room. Outdoor recreational spaces include an early childhood playground and school yard for upper grade students.
