Rochelle Shicoff, Of Thought, and Eye , 2014, acrylic paint on polycloth, Sunset Park High School, Brooklyn Rochelle Shicoff created nine banners for the Sunset Park High School in Brooklyn. The banners are displayed in three sets of three, with each set illustrating a theme. The themes are: Health and Human Services, Visual and Performing Arts, and Business and Entrepreneurship. Shicoff held workshops with the students at Sunset Park HS where they came up with the themes, imagery, and compositions for the banners. The final artwork shows a total of thirty paintings on nine banners. The paintings include images of a scientist, rock climbers, agriculture, African sculpture, and an architect. In addition to imagery, the banners display quotes from inspiring historical figures such as, Ralph Waldo Emerson, The Dalai Lama, Eleanor Roosevelt, Steve Jobs, Vincent Van Gogh, Ovid, Linus Paling, and Buckminster Fuller.
