Pacific Park Campus

Brooklyn

2024

The Pacific Park Campus is part of a new mixed-use development providing 28 standard classrooms and 2 special education classrooms. Project includes: Reading and speech resource rooms Art and music classrooms Science lab, science prep room, and project room Library Medical, guidance, and administrative suites Staff lunch and conference room Parent and community room Kitchen and cafeteria Gymnasium and gymatorium Locker rooms Outdoor play spaces Remember When Tomorrow Came REMEMBER WHEN TOMORROW CAME is a site-specific artwork created by the artist duo Ghost of a Dream for the entry corridor of the new Pacific Park Campus, Brooklyn. This immersive piece spans the corridor wall, measuring over 18 feet wide, and greets visitors with its eye-catching color palette. Students experience the artwork in motion as they walk along the corridor, and it is also visible through a large window to passersby on the street. The printed glass mural is a digital collage featuring overlapping bands of text that repeat the phrase “remember when tomorrow came” in over 170 languages spoken throughout New York City. This thought-provoking phrase suggests the hopeful and transformative experience of middle school. The interwoven text and contrasting colors symbolize the dynamic and stimulating learning environment at Pacific Park Campus. By highlighting the city's linguistic diversity, the artists present it as a microcosm of the world's cultures to convey a global perspective and a sense of infinite possibilities.
